Whatcha Eating?

Whether it’s food or outfits, I go through phases where I am obsessed with a few particular things for weeks or months until I move on to the next thing. Right now here are a few of the foods that I am addicted to:

Darigold Cottage CheeseOk, so this one I have been addicted to forever. I eat cottage cheese every day! I grew up in a household where my dad had cottage cheese on the table for every meal, and although I may not have been too crazy about it then, it is one of my absolute favorite things now.  I eat it plain, use it as dip for my whole wheat pita chips and sometimes as an alternative to sour cream. My kids all love it to! P.S, this is the only brand I like!

Dave's Killer BreadAfter finding Dave’s Killer Bread, it is hard to eat any other kind of bread. Nothing stands up to it! Unfortunately my kids are not big fans so I have to get them a plain whole wheat bread. 5 grams of fiber per slice and it is packed with all sorts of goodness!

Almond ButterI have always really liked natural peanut butter. When I first tried almond butter I liked it, but wasn’t sold. After trying it a few times, I love it more than peanut butter….to me it tastes like a dessert! My favorite thing lately is to put almond butter on a piece of toast with sliced bananas on the top. Reese and Lane give it two thumbs up but Chase says “nut butter is gross!”

Laughing Cow CheeseI love cheese. It is one of those things that I would never be able to cut out of my diet even though it might not be the best thing for you. The Laughing Cow Light cheese is so good and yet you don’t feel as guilty indulging in it. I use it on sandwiches in place of mayo and cheddar or on a piece of toast with an egg on top. My kids love it as a healthy snack too!

Pumpkin Flax CerealI have to start out my mornings with my Flax Plus cereal. If I have something else for breakfast it just doesn’t seem right. My kids call it “green flax cereal,” because the box is green. At Chase’s 3 year doctors appointment, when the Dr. asked him his favorite food, “Green Flax Cereal” was his response. They are both obsessed with it, and I usually need to buy 5 boxes of this cereal at a time! Introducing them to Cheerios years ago may have been a less expensive option!!

I have mentioned my love for black beans in another post but when I found these black bean burgers you can imagine my excitement. They are so good, and when I am trying to figure out a quick and easy healthy meal, they come to my rescue every time. There are 7 grams of fiber and they are not only healthy but delicious as well. The down side is that nobody else in my family is crazy about them! They are too “spicy” for the kids, so I am usually eating them by myself.

There you have it. Those are the things that I am eating on a regular basis because they are in my rotation at the moment. I am also wearing my 3 favorite summer outfits weekly and am in a “braid the side of my hair” routine daily too….when it is not in a ponytail that is!

The other day Reese mumbled something about what she had for breakfast….I couldn’t understand her, so Chase, our interpreter, yelled “she had green flax cereal!” You’ve taught them well!!
