I have been blogging for two months which is not a long time, but it is longer than I would have predicted when I started. “I have no time to blog,” I told my husband a million times. I am drowning in motherhood and I couldn’t possibly put another thing on my “to do” list. Continue Reading...

This Tall Gal Needs a Long Pair of Pants!
I am 5’11 and often have trouble finding clothes that are long enough for me. Most pants look like capris and most shirts look like I need to sport a belly chain since they show off half of my midriff . So, when searching the malls and online boutiques for clothes that are acceptable for a taller gal like myself, I am often surprised at the brand- names that marketers have chosen. Wanted: Jobs For a Stay at Home Mom
I have been a stay at home mom now for about 4 1/2 years. Since my days are a blurred mess of wiping (bums), cleaning, cooking, yelling, scolding, mentoring, and teaching, I rarely feel a sense of accomplishment. I know that what I am doing is important and that I am hurting, helping mold my children into good little human beings, but it’s not enough for me, I guess. Just knowing that I contributed to the car bill or the enormous food bill each month would make me feel a sense of self worth….or something. Continue Reading...
The “Princess” Wants a Knife
After date night celebrating our 7th anniversary, Pete and I did what any couple with kids would do….we headed to Target for a kid free shopping trip. As usual I was magnetically drawn to the $1 bins, and found a cute fork and spoon set that had a pirate with an eye patch. Since pirates are Chase’s obsession of the week, I picked up the set and threw it in the cart. I decided to grab the turquoise princess fork and spoon set for Reese so she wouldn’t feel left out. The Kids Books Are Against Me!
As we all know, kids have impressionable little minds. The minute we bring them to a play date or they start preschool they begin to adapt other behaviors that they might have seen or heard someone else do. That being said, while reading the kids books this morning I started to question the children’s literature that is in this house. Continue Reading...
Scratch Scratch, the Seven Year Itch
It’s official, Pete and I have been married now for 7 years. In those years we have lived in 2 states, 2 apartments, bought two houses, 5 cars, 1 dog and had 3 kids. Just typing all of that made me stop and take a breath. Continue Reading...
Um, Where’s the Instruction Manual?
In leau of Mother’s Day a few days ago, I decided to think about some of the things that I have learned over the years. I have been a Mother now for just shy of 5 years. According to my son Chase, it is actually 69 years, or atleast that was his answer when I asked him. Continue Reading...

Embrace the Journey
Over the course of the last year I have had people tell me to “Embrace the Journey”. I find myself always wanting to skip forward to the next phase, which will make my life “easier.” Whether I am wishing for bedtime at breakfast or for Friday on Monday morning, I am wishing my life away. Continue Reading...
